A message from HBL's Executive Director & Board President

Aloha HBL Supporter,

2025 marks 50 years of the Hawai‘i Bicycling League – five decades of riding together, advocating for safer streets, and building a more bike-friendly Hawai‘i.

From our beginnings in 1975 as a small volunteer effort responding to a global energy crisis, HBL has grown into a statewide movement for health, sustainability, and community. Together, we’ve inspired generations to ride for transportation, recreation, and joy.

As we celebrate this milestone, we’re reminded that our work is far from over. With your continued support, we’ll keep advancing Safe Streets for All, expanding bike education from keiki to kūpuna, providing the best days to ride aloha, and strengthening the programs and opportunities that make Hawai‘i a better place to ride and live.

This has been possible thanks to people like you who have made a one-time or recurring gift. We are closing in on our 50th anniversary goal to raise $500,000, with $463,730 in new gifts, grants, and pledges received to date. Your year-end donation today of $5,000, $1,000, $500, $250, $100, $10 or any amount will help us ensure the next 50 years are filled with even more progress, connection, and aloha on two wheels. Please make a donation today!
