Hawai’i Bicycling League recently held a Board of Directors election for four open board positions on the 2026-2027 term.

The candidates included:

  • Gary Dunn
  • Atomman Kimm
  • Julia Parsons
  • David Sherman
  • Gregg Yates

HBL Members had the opportunity to vote from December 1st to December 12th. A total of 96 active members participated. 

The candidates selected by HBL Members for the four available board seats include:

  • David Sherman
  • Gregg Yates
These winning candidates will serve two-year terms starting January 1st, 2026 and running through December 30, 2027.

The Hawai’i Bicycling League extends our mahalo to Gary Dunn for participating as a candidates in this year’s election.

We also share a deep mahalo for the HBL Board Members whose terms expire at the end of this year, including Bob Bengtson, Norb Buelsing, Pattie Dunn, and Kyle Paredes. 

Mahalo to Bob Bengtson for his decades of support in various roles on our Board, including Board President. His commitment to HBL events and overseeing the HBL Endowment Committee. 

Mahalo to Norb Buelsing for his tenure as Board Treasurer and bringing his business and finance knowledge. 

Mahalo to Pattie Dunn for her many years of support at Board Secretary, her commitment to the Red Hot Ladies, and for ensuring often marginalized voices are heard. 

Mahalo to Kyle Paredes for his commitment to including off-road riding in HBL’s efforts, and building events like the Hawai’i Bike Festival. 

The Board of Directors will be formally introduced at the 2026 HBL Annual Benefit Dinner on March 6, 2026. More details to come shortly!
