What's Happening Now at HBL:
Zach’s Ride
Organized by HBL and the Manago family, the 2026 Zach’s Ride for Safe Streets on April 4th (SAT.) invites cyclists of all ages and experience to jump on their bikes and join us for a ride on some of the bike infrastructure and protected bike lanes created since Zach’s passing. Together we will be a visible voice of the cycling community, showing our support of and the continued need for safer shared streets by pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.
Hale‘iwa Metric Century
The Hale‘iwa Metric Century returns on Sunday, April 26th, inviting riders to experience one of O‘ahu’s most scenic and rewarding courses. Whether you’re tackling your first long ride or chasing a new personal goal, this event offers fully supported routes, a welcoming community, and a classic North Shore finish. Registering not only secures your spot on the start line, it also directly supports Hawai‘i Bicycling League’s advocacy, education, and efforts to make biking safer for everyone.
HBL’s Golden Gears Triking Program is BACK!
May is National Bike Month!
National Bike Month in Hawai‘i is a month-long celebration of cycling that encourages people across the islands to ride bikes for transportation, recreation, and health. Organized by the Hawai‘i Bicycling League along with community partners, the month features group rides, educational workshops, commuter events like Bike to Work Day, and community gatherings that highlight the benefits of biking and promote safer, more bike-friendly streets. The goal is to get more people on bikes, build community among riders, and raise awareness about cycling as a healthy, sustainable way to get around Hawai‘i.
Hawai‘i Bicycling League is putting the final touches on our calendar of events. Keep an eye on your email or check back soon for a formal announcement of all of our events happening in May.
