⋆✭ Light Up the Night Ride with HPD 2022 ✭⋆

 💫 December 10th, 2022 (Saturday)  💫

11/23/2022 UPDATE:

Aloha night riders, we are bummed to let you know that the Light Up the Night Ride with HPD, planned for Saturday, Dec. 10th, is cancelled due to HPD officers being reassigned to other positions that evening. The safety of our riders is of utmost importance (with fun being a very close second!), so without HPD officers providing escort through Waikīkī we don’t believe it would be in your best interest to hold this event. We are actively working with HPD’s District 6 Community Policing Team to confirm with us another date so we can reschedule this great family-friendly event, which they have said may be in the beginning of 2023.

We will absolutely keep you posted once that new date has been confirmed on their side. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact HBL’s Director of Adult Education, Malia, at Malia@HBL.org. We really appreciate your understanding.
Please stay tuned – we’ll be sending out an email once the new (rescheduled) date is confirmed for this event!
Thanks so much for your support,

– HBL Staff

HBL will be hosting a gift collection drive this holiday season. After dropping off your gift, join the Hawaii Bicycling League & the Honolulu Police Department for a free, family-friendly slow roll through Waikīkī on December 10th (Sat) at sunset!

Promote safe cycling after sundown and help brighten someone’s holiday.

🎁 Donate a new, unwrapped toy to help a family in need. 🎁

Bring your bicycle, helmet, & lights (register online to get some for free!) for this police-escorted, no-charge night ride that helps build bike awareness, foster good relationships between the community & law enforcement, and bring joy to local families in need this holiday season!

🚓 🚲  🚲  🚲 💫

Space is limited! Registration is required to ride. There will be no day-of registration.

The short ride will go from Kapi‘olani Park through Waikīkī and back. The slow-rolling group ride will be escorted by HPD officers. Bring front and rear lights and other high visibility items! The ride will start and end at Kapi‘olani Park parking lot on the corner of Monsarrat Avenue and Paki Avenue (click here for a map). If you are arriving by car, you can park in that same parking lot, but of course we encourage you to come by bike!

Keiki under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. All riders must wear a helmet and have working front & back lights during the ride (register above for some complimentary bike lights!).

Please make sure your bicycle is in good-working order for the ride. Your bicycle may be subject to a safety check to ensure it is safe to ride.
