The Malaekahana Time Trial is the State Time Trial Championship Race. This year’s event will cover an out and back course.
You’re in the right spot. Scroll down to learn about the five time trials across O‘ahu in 2026. These small races allow you to ride individually and push yourself to break personal goals and records. These races are being organized by Hawai‘i Bicycling League, Tradewinds Cycling Team, ASBRA, and Cycle Mānoa.
Remember this all about having fun while getting out to ride.
The first race of the year and the first in a series of five time trials, the Mākaha Time Trial is a 9 mile out and back course on the beautiful Waianae coast. The course starts just south of the Keawaula Beach parking lot and proceeds out and back along the freshly repaved Farrington Highway.
*This race is not USAC sanctioned. Riders can receive ranking points for TT, but not Upgrade Points.
Bib Pickup will be at The Bike Shop Honolulu on Saturday 1/31/26 from 12pm-4pm and at the Start Area from 6am-7am.

Mākaha Time Trial will be $50 for each registrant with HBL Members saving 10%.
Online registration closes the Friday before the race. In person registration will be available on Saturday from 12-4 at bib pickup. No new registrations will be accepted on race day, but bib pickup will be available at 6am at the start.

During the first two months of the year, Tradewind Cycling Team is hosting the O‘ahu Hill Climb Challenge as a Virtual Challenge. Hawai‘i Bicycling League and HIDrate will be supporting this by strategically being out at the base of a specific climbs on Sunday mornings throughout the first 8 weeks of the year. Join in on the fun and sign up and race in the longest continuously-running bicycle race in the state of Hawaii. The race is an uphill time trial all the way to the top of Tantalus Drive.

The mission of the Tradewind Cycling Team is to promote competitive bicycle racing in the State of Hawaii. We acknowledge that sportsmanship, teamwork, commitment, dedication and support for one another are the hallmarks of a successful cycling team.
Club activities include:
– Weekly Saturday and Sunday morning training rides with post-ride Coffee socializing
– Quarterly social get-togethers
– Annual end of year social
– Neighbor Island trips
The Mokulēʻia Time Trial is a 12 mile out and back course on the beautiful North Shore coast. The course starts at Waialua High School and proceeds out and back along Farrington Highway towards Ka‘ena Point, turning around at Camp Erdman.

The Aloha State Bicycle Racing Association (ASBRA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to serving the bicycle racing community in Hawaii since its founding in 2019.
Back for a third year as the state championship team time trial, the Kualoa TTT is an “out and back” race from Kualoa Regional Park with a U-Turn right before Laie Shopping center (turnaround at 12.5 miles, total race distance: 25 miles). Teams will consist of 4 riders with at least 3 required to finish. Categories are based on the combine age of all team members.
