Oahu’s Season Opener is a Success

Top Male and Female Winners
The Mākaha Time Trial kicked off the 2026 O‘ahu cycling season on Sunday, February 1st along the scenic Wai‘anae Coast with it starting and finishing at Keawaʻula Beach. This individual time trial brought out a lot of first timers as well as seasoned veterans with everyone enjoying the beautiful ocean views.
Results
With 79 total entries this year and every category having at least one participant it looks like the local racing scene on Oahu is staying healthy. Our youngest racer was 12 years old and our oldest was 79.

Hosted by Hawai‘i Bicycling League:
– The Hale‘iwa Metric Century (HMC) on Sunday, April 26th, is an non-timed event that has multiple distance options so that everyone can participate. Starting and ending at Kaiaka Bay Beach Park, HMC is one of HBL’s larger fundraisers that helps support their efforts in advocacy and education in Hawai‘i.
– The Mokulē‘ia Time Trial on Sunday, May 10th, so please sign up and come race again with HBL again.
Hosted by other organizations:
– The Pineapple Sprint Road Race (hosted by TCT) will be on Sunday, February 22nd, and is a fan-favorite sprint that delivers fast racing with a mass start, long climb, and a punchy, all out sprint finish.
– The Tantalus Time Trial (hosted by TCT) will be on Sunday, April 5th, and is a true benchmark climb that challenges riders against the clock on one of O‘ahu’s most iconic uphill routes.
– The Kalapawai Lanikai Triathlon (hosted by BOCA) is back and will be taking place on Sunday, April 19th. This is a great introduction race for cyclists curious about triathlon or looking to mix up their race season.
