Since the inaugural celebration in 2001, Kapolei City Lights has been spreading holiday cheer to the Leeward O‘ahu community as a complement to Honolulu City Lights. The City received an overwhelming number of applications this year and while they had to turn down many applicants, we are thrilled to announce HBL was one of the approved 60 contingents to secure a coveted spot in the 2023 Kapolei City Lights Parade, happening on Saturday, December 9th, 2023!
Registration is REQUIRED as each parade group is restricted to a MAXIMUM of thirty (30) individuals.

Parade spots will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration closes Dec. 8TH 6:00pm (HST) or once registration is full.
THINGS to KNOW:

- Parade will begin on Fort Barrette Road, left onto Kapolei Parkway and end at Kama‘aha Street. Length of the route is approximately 1 mile. Staging will start as early as 4:00PM. We ask that all our parade participants check-in with us no later than 5:15PM.
- Parade officially begins at 6:00PM and will wrap up around 7:00PM.
- Keiki are welcome! Those under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult (registrant).
- All bicycles, tricycles, and unicycles are welcome to participate, as long as they have operable pedals and are ridden SAFELY. Please note this is a SLOW ROLL. Plan to cruise at a walking pace.
- As per event organizer rules, all bikes must have lights and/or Christmas decorations.
- This event will take place after sundown, so any cyclists without proper lights will not be permitted to ride with us. (See Hawai‘i law on lights here).
- Properly fastened helmets are required to be worn when riding.
This year’s theme of “A Westside Wonderland” will feature decorations inspired by historic, cultural, and recreational aspects of our Leeward communities, from Waipahū to Kaʻena Point, to showcase pride in the westside! All are invited to come and experience these free City events and decorations. Come take a walk in the country this holiday season and enjoy “A Westside Wonderland.” More information here.
