CALL FOR TESTIMONY/Contact Legislators
On Friday, 2/21 at noon, the House Finance Committee will consider the following bills. Please follow the links below and share your own supportive testimony to keep these bills moving along toward passage:
- HB 958, HD, 2 – relating to e-bikes. HBL has submitted testimony with comments to make the bill more bike-friendly. You can read our testimony here.
- HB 1260, HD, 1 relating to piloting Open Streets. HBL’s testimony prefers the original intent of the bill. You can read our testimony here.
- HB 1231, HD, 1 – relating to red light cameras in schools zones and funding for Safe Routes to School. You can read our supportive testimony here.
Also of note, we are requesting hearings be scheduled for HB 1471 and SB 1124 which will generate much needed funding for the Safe Route to School Program. Please call House Finance Chair Yamashita and ask that he schedule a hearing for HB 1471. In the Senate, SB 1124 has a double referral to Ways & Means/Consumer Protection. For these, please call WAM Chair Senator Dela Cruz at 808-586-6090 and CPC Chair Senator Keohokalole at 808-587-7215 and kindly request they schedule a hearing. You don’t need to be their constituent to call, as these bills affect everyone.
