The 2025 Hawai‘i Legislative Session opened on January 15th. As of today, January 24, there have been dozens of bills introduced that have significant potential to both improve and weaken the environment for bicycling, walking and rolling across Hawai‘i.
To keep you apprised of emerging and fast-moving developments we will be sharing regular updates.
Today’s update includes:
- An overview letter written to members of the Hawai‘i Legislature broadly describing HBL’s position
- A bill tracking sheet with information about proposed legislation we are following most closely.
- An invitation to join us for an Interactive Zoom conversation on February 5th at 5:30pm. We’ll be discussing key bills as well as offer tips about how to submit testimony and participate in the 2025 Legislative Session. This will be recorded for registered participants and made publicly available.
This information provides a broad landscape of how HBL is following legislative developments this year. It can also be used to inform your own testimony, which is needed to ensure we’re able to get the best outcomes for the cycling community and people who care about safe, accessible, affordable, sustainable and, active transportation.
