On January 29th, The Honolulu City Council voted unanimously in favor of Bill 52, which aims to establish clear guidelines for e-bikes by introducing key safety provisions. HBL worked with Council Members Dos Santos-Tam and Tulba, as well as with the members of a Department of Transportation E-Mobility Working Group to champion some of the most salient elements of this bill. We are continuing this work with Hawaii legislators to enact similar and enhanced safety measures statewide.
The bill now heads to Mayor Rick Blangiardi’s desk for approval.
