2025 HMC & AFR:
On April 27th, over 700 people came to O‘ahu’s North Shore to ride and support our great cycling scene. It was a beautiful day and we saw hundreds of smiles and shakas as riders came back to Kaiaka Bay Beach park and ride under the finish arch.
This ride is not only a celebration of cycling but also serves as a fundraiser to support HBL’s mission of promoting bicycling in Hawai‘i. Participants benefit from aid stations, mechanical support, and the camaraderie of fellow cyclists, making it a cherished event for both locals and visitors. Everyone at Hawai‘i Bicycling League is thankful for a successful event and we hope to see you at the Honolulu Century Ride and Aloha Fun Ride on September 28th.
Volunteers:
Over 150 unique volunteers pitched in 700 hours to make the 2025 Haleʻiwa Metric Century and Aloha Fun Ride a great event! From stuffing packets to mixing waffle batter to medical support to finish line chee-hoos, our volunteers did it all last week. Mahalo nui to everyone who gave their time, energy, and aloha in support of this special rvent.

AID STATION ADOPTERS:
Mahalo to our Aid Station adoption teams! At last week’s Haleʻiwa Metric Century, these community groups volunteered to operate our Aid Stations and share snacks, drinks, and encouragement with all riders.
1. Camp Erdman Aid Station: Military Wild
2. Waialua Aid Station: Rotary Club of Wahiawā-Waialua
3. Sunset Beach Aid Station: North Shore Outdoor Circle
4. Kahuku Aid Station: Mid-Pacific Road Runners Club
5. Hauʻula Aid Station: Boy Scouts of America Aloha Council Troop 223 (pictured with four Scouts from the troop who rode the full course as they work toward their Cycling merit badges!)

Mechanics and Course Support:
We had Cycle Mānoa, Velohana, and The Bike Shop (at the start and two aid stations) helping with flats and bike maintenance to help keep you rolling. Tradewind Cycling Team came out strong in support, either by riding or being our Course Marshals helping with roadside assistance. Kaua‘i Coffee had samples at the start to energize you. HIdrate and Mochi Foods donated hydration mixes that were at all the aid stations and waffles we were cooking up at the finish area. Huge Mahalo to these partners for helping make everyone’s ride more enjoyable and safe.
