The Bike Shop Hawaii opened in 1970 by Faye and Dennis Saiki at the corner of Cooke and King Streets, eventually opening up locations in Aiea and Kailua. Kualoa-Heʻeia Ecumenical Youth Project was founded in 1968 through the efforts of churches, community residents, and social service agencies. Several ministers saw the need for an agency to serve low-income, at-risk youth in semi-rural areas from Kualoa Point to Heʻeia. Equipped with support from the Episcopal, Methodist, and Catholic churches along with private trusts and foundations, these community leaders accepted the responsibility of caring for the youth in their community. Over time, KEY Project has expanded service to a wide spectrum of community members from keki to kupuna, and from individual members to large organizations who regularly enjoy using KEY Project facilities for their programs and gatherings.
The mission of KEY Project is to nurture and promote the cultural, environmental, social, economic, and recreational well-being of the Kualoa-Heʻeia area by providing a vital grassroots civic resource that effectively serves the needs of our diverse multicultural community.

Boy Scouts Troop 223 have a long and proud tradition of nearly 70 years of Scouting in Kailua and have had many great adventures. Young people have enjoyed the outdoors, leadership and an increase in self-confidence and self-esteem through this program. Our Troop has and continues to develop responsible citizens.

Course marshals & Support
Tradewind Cycling Team (TCT) was founded in 1989 with 7 members, which has now grown to 75. The mission of TCT is to promote competitive bicycle racing in the State of Hawai‘i. TCT acknowledge that sportsmanship, teamwork, commitment, dedication and support for one another are the hallmarks of a successful cycling team.
TCT is a USCF licensed bicycle racing team. TCT believes in being inclusive, respectful, enthusiastic, active and good examples for the cycling community. TCT core values represent the strength, character, and foundation of who we are: a team committed to presenting competitive cycling in a positive light while building solid and long-lasting relationships. To promote the sport of bicycle racing in Hawai‘i, TCT sponsors several races during the year on O‘ahu and Kaua‘i. TCT has also been instrumental in HBL's yearly Hale‘iwa Metric Century Ride and the Honolulu Century Ride as they have been the official course marshals for several years.

Velohana is a small, artisan cycling & triathlon shop passionately focusing on helping the enthusiast of any age or ability. Founded in 2017 by former pro and international coach Will Mather, Velohana was originally a bike fitting, performance cycling & triathlon specific training program and has since added on a bike shop. His passion for cycling has been globally serving communities, having started KVIBE with Gary Gill, starting a huge cycling community in Bangladesh (and now has a Guinness World Record for longest cycling paceline) and now is returning once again to HCR to volunteer as mechanical support!

MeDICAL Support
The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a national network of local groups of volunteers engaging local communities to strengthen public health, reduce vulnerability, build resilience, and improve preparedness, response and recovery capabilities. The Hawaii MRC operates under the Hawaii State Department of Health. In a disaster, MRC volunteers may be activated to provide surge capacity to DOH and other emergency management partners. MRC members may assist in shelters, help distribute medicines, or provide information and assistance to the community in other ways as needed. MRC volunteers attend orientation and quarterly meetings and participate in relevant training activities as their schedule allows. Volunteers are invited to participate in preparedness exercises, community health activities, flu clinics, vision screening clinics, health fairs, and other events. Due to Hawai‘i's geographic isolation, Hawai‘i’s communities must be self-sufficient and resilient, particularly when disaster strikes, and the MRC helps those communities when they need it most. Several of MRC members will be at HMC aid stations to help with anyone who needs medical attention!
