In April 2018, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 3 as World Bicycle Day. The UN resolution for World Bicycle Day recognizes “the uniqueness, longevity and versatility of the bicycle, which has been in use for two centuries, and that is a simple, affordable, reliable, clean and environmentally fit sustainable means of transport.”
This year, as Hawai‘i Bicycling League celebrates our 50th anniversary, the Office of Governor Josh Green presented us with an official proclamation declaring June 3, 2025 as World Bicycle Day in Hawai‘i (picture below).
To celebrate, we are inviting folks to join us for a potluck bicycle pa‘āina.
