At sunset on Saturday, May 28th, the Hawaii Bicycling League & the Honolulu Police Department will be hosting a FREE, family-friendly slow roll through Waikīkī to promote safe cycling after sundown. Bring your bicycle, helmet, & lights (or register online to get some for free!) for this chill, police-escorted ride that helps builds bike awareness & foster good relationships between the community & law enforcement in Hawai‘i.
THE DETAILS:
The short ride will go from Kapi‘olani Park through Waikīkī and back. The slow-moving group ride will be escorted by HPD officers. Bring front and rear lights and other high visibility items! The ride will start and end at Kapi‘olani Park – parking lot near Monsarrat Avenue and Paki Avenue (click here for the location). If you are arriving by car, you can park in that same parking lot, but of course we encourage you to come by bike! All riders must wear a helmet* and have working front & back lights during the ride. The ride will depart around 6:30pm, but all riders should plan to arrive by 5:30pm to sign-in. Please make sure your bicycle is in good-working order for the ride. Your bicycle may be subject to a safety check to ensure it is safe to ride.
Those under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times. All participants should be able to bike safely in a group setting.
Don’t forget your lights!

Hawai‘i law requires those cycling at night (specifically: 30 minutes after sunset, until 30 minutes before sunrise) have a white light on the front their bicycle, and at least a red reflector on the rear of the bike. HBL definitely recommends having a flashing red back light as well, and adding more reflectors to your bike & apparel. Read exactly what the §291C-147 Hawai‘i Law says here!
We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.
