Hawaii Bicycling League (HBL)
Hawaii Bicycling League is a 501(c)3 nonprofit whose mission is to enable more people to ride bicycles for health, recreation, and transportation through advocacy, education, and events. BikeEd is a very important HBL program. Each year, HBL’s BikeEd Program teaches bike safety to 8,000 O’ahu 4th-grade students.
Over a full week at schools scheduled across O’ahu, BikeEd instructors teach 4th grade students, within their school day. Instruction includes presentations, demonstrations, and on-the-bike drills on campus. Students who are ready and willing also bike on safe neighborhood streets under the leadership and supervision of the BikeEd team. The BikeEd Team is comprised of 2-3 instructors, including a BikeEd Team Leader.
HBL is looking for both Full-Time (Monday through Friday) and Part-Time (Thursday and Friday) BikeEd Instructors to start August 2 for the coming school year*. Hours are typically 7:30am-2pm, including travel time, with work days aligning with school days and holidays. *Often, BikeEd Team Members take summer breaks off and return for the next school year.
