Purpose

The Education Committee strategically develops the BikeEd Hawaii program, integrates bicycling education in HBL's programmatic areas, and generally develops bicycling education for the organization. Each year we develop an annual work plan and submit goals and priorities to HBL's Board of Directors. The strategic plan includes a comprehensive evaluation and monitoring program for the long-term impact of BikeEd, integrating BikeEd into HBL events and advocacy, and aims to create a national cycling conference in Hawai'i.

Structure:

The Education Committee is a committee of the Board of Directors, however participation and leadership is open to HBL members.  Committee members should expect a 3-5 hour per month time commitment, including monthly 60 minute meetings.

When:

The Education Committee meets every month. Meetings are held the second Monday from 6pm-7:30pm at HBL's office: 3442 Wai'alae Ave Suite 1, Honolulu HI 96816.
